BlumShapiro, the largest regional accounting, tax and business consulting firm based in New England with offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, announced the promotion of Jorge Castro from staff accountant to senior accountant. Castro will continue providing accounting support services for clients and will take on a leadership role.
“Jorge’s skills, experience and work ethic have made him a great asset to our team,” said Michael Hanna, a partner at BlumShapiro. “We are thrilled to expand his role with the company.”
Castro joined Sullivan and Company as a staff accountant in 2011 before its merger with BlumShapiro in January 2013, and he had previously completed an internship with the company.
Castro holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He is a member of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants and is preparing to take the Certified Public Accountant Examination. He resides in North Kingstown.
