BlumShapiro Announces the Promotion of Exeter Resident Monica Motta to Partner

BlumShapiro, the largest regional accounting, tax and business consulting firm based in New England, has announced the promotion of Monica Motta to partner in the firm’s accounting and auditing department. Motta specializes in working with both for-profit and non-profit healthcare organizations, including skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and long-term care facilities.

Formerly a principal at Sullivan and Company prior to its merger with BlumShapiro earlier this year, Motta strategically advises clients on today’s environment of ever-changing healthcare and long-term care regulations, reporting and funding guidelines, staying abreast of federal and local requirements and changes. Additionally, she assists with the preparation of Certificate of Need and Change of Ownership applications as well as operating budgets, projections and forecasts for the long-term care industry.

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Motta is active in the Rhode Island Assisted Living Association, Rhode Island Health Care Association, Leading Age, and the Massachusetts Senior Care Association. In addition she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Coastline EAP, Rhode Island Student Assistance Services, and is involved with the Leading Women of Southeastern Rhode Island.
