The Goods Heads to The Gateway

HomeGoods is moving to the Quonset Gateway this fall.

of North Kingstown is moving and – for those worried their favorite place to buy pictures frames, towels and other assorted house wares will be departing to a far away place – fear not. HomeGoods will be moving from its location nearby fellow TJX store to The Shops at Quonset Point.

New Boston Fund, Inc. (Quonset’s developer) recently announced it had leased 22,000 sq. ft. to HomeGoods will be leasing 22,000 sq. ft. of space at the corner unit of the plaza at the corner of Gate Road and Post Road.

“New Boston is proud to welcome another anchor tenant to The Shops at Quonset Point,” said Gary Hofstetter, Senior Vice President and Northeast Regional Director, New Boston Fund. “We are thrilled to see that the property is still attracting high-quality tenants such as HomeGoods in southern Rhode Island.”

HomeGoods will open its new space this fall, joining Verizon Wireless, Kohl’s, Dave’s Marketplace Supercuts, Central Nails, Subway and Sally Beauty in the 400,000-square-foot retail development at the mouth of Quonset Business Park.

Construction at the gateway began in January 2008 with 256,000 sq. ft. of the 400,000-square-foot plaza space already pre-leased. The project is part of an overhaul to turn the former military base into a business park, which began its major push in 2005 when RI Economic Development Corporation took the reins and created the Quonset Development Corporation. The business park now boasts 168 companies and employs 8,800 people. The Port of Davisville, located within the park, was .
