Perseus, Pirate & Others Take Home Ribbons in Wickford Scarecrow Contest

Voila won funniest scarecrow while Green Ink nabbed the ribbon for scariest at this year's scarecrow contest in Wickford Village.

Do you remember the scarecrow from 'The Wizard of Oz'? Yeah, these scarecrows aren't like that one. At all.

Wickford Village kicked off , its weeklong Halloween celebration, with the annual scarecrow contest. Wickford merchants battled to craft the scariest, funniest, most creative and/or most perplexing scarecrows to put on display outside their stores...and this year surely did not disappoint.

won for the funniest scarecrow with its "Bicyclist Going Over a Cliff." Second place went to with the "Wicked Witch" scarecrow.

For scariest scarecrow, took home the blue ribbon with its "Perseus Killing Medusa" scarecrow. Second place went to , and for their joint effort to produce "The Wharf Pirate."

nabbed top honors for the most creative scarecrow with its "Girl with Dog" scarecrow. In second place was with its "Totem Pole" scarecrow.
