Bites Nearby: Grille On Main

We headed north of the border this week into East Greenwich territory for this installment of "Bites Nearby."

Yes, we did indeed venture over the border into East Greenwich territory for this installment of Bites Nearby. Though Main Street in EG has a bevy of restaurants, we figured we'd start from the end and work our way down.

We've got to hand it to these guys: they really know how to pique our culinary intrigue with dishes like mashed potato pizza and grilled Sam Adams brined pork chops. They do the classics (slow roasted meatloat entree and Angus burgers) just as well as the quirky dishes (turkey and brie wrap with red onion marmalade and cheeseburger pizza) to suit even the pickiest of palates.

Though the prices are reasonable, they get even more reasonable if you swing by the bar from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursdays or all day Sunday when Grille's "Hungry Hour" menu kicks in. Everything on this menu is $5, ranging from great appetizers to pizzas to baked mac and cheese.

Grille's atmosphere is versatile for any outing, whether you're on a date, taking the family (check out the kids menu) out or just looking for a locale for a social gathering. On the weekends, the bar area can get a bit busy, but is pretty well separated from the dining area.

P.S. We'd advise checking out their dessert tray after a meal, too.
