New for teens: NK Strong Voices; Registration now open!

Registrations now being accepted for NK Strong Voices!

What this is:  Poetry slam at its best! 8 weeks of coaching and performing of self expression through poetry created by YOU. This is an expressive writing and reciting course allowing each student to create and then perform what they’ve created. Learn about poets and poetry slams and how to compete nationally. Learn to use a Mic and how to use your poetic voice to express yourself.

Who this is for:  Teens and young adults ages 14-20 interested in writing, poetry, song writing, rap and the like. If you need a place to be heard artistically, this is the group for you.

When and where:  Saturdays, Oct 1st thru Nov 19th from 1:30-3pm @ the Heritage Village Apartments Community Room. 24 Union Drive, North Kingstown

Cost:  $20 for North Kingstown residents, $40 if you don’t live or go to school in NK

The coach:  Jae Spence. Most people in Town know Ms. Jae as a vocal coach. Jae has been featured in on and off Broadway theater as well as local theaters, sang with various well-known artist and is a member of a few gospel groups. She is a featured soloist in a local band and teaches singing and expression lessons for NK Creative Dramatics, West Bay Y, Take an Arts Break, NK after school programs, amongst others. Jae is known for her great ability to express and is eager to bring that to these classes of self expression.
