Town Seeks Recusal Of Judge In Firefighter Case
The Town of North Kingstown filed a motion asking Superior Court Judge Brian Stern to recuse himself in the case due before him Monday morning, where he is to hear dueling motions over the 24-hour shifts imposed on firefighters in 2012.

Costa ‘Offended’ Chafee Linked Her To Gun Raffle
State Rep. Doreen Costa (R-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter) said Thursday she was “offended” by Gov. Lincoln Chafee’s remarks that she was behind the raffle of an assault rifle at the state Republican Party’s “Family Day” event Saturday at the South County Rod & Gun Club in West Greenwich.

Recycling Profits Down 62 Percent
Where the towns shared nearly $2 million in 2012, this year the number was about $740,000, down about 62 percent. For North Kingstown, that meant a $23,956 payment in 2013 — a drop from the 2012 tally of $64,714.
