Do you like wine? Avon? Curves? Then you've got a bunch of options today!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Friday, May 10, 2013:

You will need the Avon to make your new “curves” beautiful – ha ha ha! There is an open house for Curves Complete today, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. An Avon rep will also be giving out free samples from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Yay, stories! There is storytime for the young kids at 10 a.m. at the Davisville Library today. For more info, click here.

Wine you say??? Yes, I said wine! There are plenty of opportunities for tasting. Wickford Package has a tasting at 5 p.m., as does Colonial Wine and Spirits. For a classier, swankier, $50 event at 7 p.m., click here.

Splendid music, from alums, faculty and students! For just $10, you can attend “Melodies Eternally New,” a special concert at the University of Rhode Island at 7:30 p.m. Heck, it’s even cheaper if you’re a student or a senior! For more info, click here.

“The honorable gentleman had better spare his interrogations if they are as senseless as that one.” – Charles Tupper. There are no government meetings scheduled for today, so do your best to take Tupper’s quote to heart if you run into any other less than honorable gentlemen.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing us, and depending on the time of the day, it can take anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Confederate Memorial Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

It was one of the favorites of The Fonz, I’m sure. On this day in 1954, Bill Haley and His Comets released “Rock Around The Clock,” which would became the first rock album to reach No. 1.

Bust a move! Happy 46th birthday to Marvin Young, better known as Young MC.
