North Kingstown Soccer Association. NKSA is a volunteer organization dedicated to youth soccer development in North Kingstown. NKSA is a member of Soccer Rhode Island (SRI) and a Training Partner of YES! (Youth Elite Soccer). NKSA offers many levels of soccer development from Introductory Level to Academy Level.
The NKSA fall recreational soccer program is open for players age 2 to 14. The season starts September 6th and runs until October 25th. The program is designed to allow players of all levels the ability to participate in an organized team building program while developing soccer skills.
NKSA partners with the Youth Elite Soccer (YES) program. A YES coach will work directly with our youngest players and assist coaches of our players by providing lesson plans designed to focus on a particular skill or technique.
U4s: Our "tiny tots" program will meet one weeknight (at the coach's discretion) and on Saturday mornings. The program is specifically designed to allow players to become comfortable with the ball at their feet through games/activities that are enjoyable and entertaining for the children while teaching basic soccer skills.
U6s: Our U6 program builds upon the U4 skills (ball control, foot skills) and introduces passing, movement, and spacing. Teams will meet once a week and will have games on Saturday. Our games will start simple at first but as the season progresses we will add more "rules" into the play (throw-ins, etc...). The coaches will serve as referees during the game play.
U8s, U10s, and U12s: At these ages we try and teach more advanced ideas of spacing and tactics while continuing to work on basic skills and techniques. These age groups will practice once or twice during the week (at the coach's discretion) and will have games on Saturdays. These games will have referees.
We encourage players to register early to both save on money and allow for team placement.
The registration fee includes:
- Full uniform (shirt, shorts, and socks)
- Participation Award for all players
- Player Clinics
- Games on Saturday
