Family Ice Skate Night

Boss Ice Arena (Kingston, RI) The second annual Skate for Shriners will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 7pm until 10pm. This is a family friendly event with music, food and two hours of ice time.

Hallowed Entertainment Group, LLC founder David Prata started this event after the passing of his mother, Elaine G. Prata, an inspiring wife and mother of two. Elaine fought Scoliosis head on and lived each day to its fullest, never letting the disease get the best of her. Ice Skating was one of her favorite pastimes as a child.

“The Shriners Hospital was an integral part of Elaine's surgeries, and that is why our fundraiser will benefit them directly, so they may continue their mission to help children, no matter their families ability to pay.” -David Prata

Their inaugural event was a success and raised a total of $775.00 in a similar one-hour event. This year the event has been expanded with a second hour of available skate time added to accommodate families who may not be able to attend the first hour. The event has an earnest goal of raising $2000.00 or more. All net-proceeds from the event will be donated directly to Shriners Hospital for Children of Boston, Massachusetts.

The generosity of donors through direct giving or for giving at events like this one is what empowers the Shriners Hospital for Children to deliver life-changing care, without placing the financial burden on families that may not be able to otherwise afford the provided care. No matter how large or small, every donation counts to a child who is in need.
