Get In-The-Know About Local Events!

Introducing myself as an NK Patch blogger and discussing local event news (2012 Wickford Heels & Wheels Fundraiser).

This is my first post on the NK Patch! You can learn all about me if you read my profile, but to summarize quickly:

  • My name is Alexandra and I am a native North Kingstowner.
  • I graduated from Elon University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport & Event Management and a Minor in Business Administration.
  • I currently work as a real estate salesperson with Mansions & Manors Real Estate and as a social media manager at The Woodworking & DIY Shows.
  • My goals in life are to get as much experience as possible in the realm of event planning and to one day start my own event business.

I started a blog for Emerging Event Professionals last year (now, with four contributors)  to provide an outlet for young people who want to be involved in the event industry to turn to for advice, feedback and ideas.  I thought, what better way to publicize important event content than to be more involved in sharing with my own community (North Kingstown to be exact).

In local event news: the annual fundraiser is gearing up for another event this spring. This year, the Heels Gala will be held on Friday, June 1 and the Wheels Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 2.

Each year, the event raises money for a different cause, this year all proceeds from ticket sales and auction items will go to the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the Rhode Island National Guard. The Heels Gala will be held at the and each table will be honored with two military guests in addition to eight regular guests. The Wheels Car Show will take place at the Wickford Town Parking Lot located on Brown Street.  Admission for the car show is FREE and provides entertainment for all ages!

I will be in charge of managing ticket sales this year, so if you are interested in purchasing tickets for the event you can get in touch with me via email: alexandra.kreher@gmail.com. I will be sure to make an announcement once tickets are available for purchase.  This event should be a fantastic way to start off your summer (and hopefully some warm weather) as well as supporting a great cause.  Stay tuned for more local event insight, event tips, opinions and ideas!
