Alaska w/o a Cruise Ship: North Kingstown resident Howard Brown and a traveling companion took a two-week trip to Alaska in August 2013. They avoided the popular cruise-ship travel and opted instead for ferries, rail, small planes, car rentals, boats and buses. They concluded that this allowed them to see the “real Alaska.” This slideshow reflects their sail up the Inland Passage, and visits to Skagway, Glacier Bay, Juneau and Denali National Park. Please register. North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone Street. 6:30 p.m.
