School Committee meeting: On the agenda for this budget work session, Supt. Auger will present his preliminary budget for 2014-15. The panel meets in the auditorium at NKHS. 7 p.m.

Planning Commission meeting: On the agenda, the Development Plan Review for HK&S Construction Holding’s plan for 554 Ten Rod Road. Town Hall. 7 p.m.

Trivia Night Benefit for NK Food Pantry: Bravo Pizza is holding a series of trivia nights to benefit the North Kingstown Food Pantry. Teams of 2 to 6 players can register to compete in any of trivia nights from Jan. 21 to Feb. 25. Call 398-2500 or register your team on Bravo’s Facebook page. Gift Certificate Prizes to Bravo and Area Merchants will be awarded to the top 2 teams. Teams are asked to bring items for the NK Food Pantry when they come for Trivia Night. Items most in need now are: personal hygiene items such as toilet paper, dish washing soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, soaps and shaving creams, and shampoos.

On Wednesday …

Intro to Qigong: David Hamel of Narragansett will give an overview of the principles behind Qigong (pronounced “chee gong”) and lead participants through some simple exercises at the NK Free Library. Qigong is a practice of aligning breath, movement and awareness. The benefits of practicing qigong can be improved health, concentration and outlook. The exercises are not strenuous, are easy to remember, and can be done well by all fitness levels and ages. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. 6:30 p.m. Please register.

Conservation Commission meeting: On the agenda, the panel will discuss its role regarding future projects. Town Hall Annex, 55 Brown St. 7 p.m.

Jamestown Arts Center’s Design Expo 2014: You are invited to the opening night of the JAC's Design Expo, a celebration of Rhode Island designers who are making a profound impact on people’s lives. Two featured speakers will give short comments on their work in the design field, including entrepreneur and RISD faculty member Bill Foulkes, creator of the "Design and Entrepreneurial Thinking" course.
