NK 5K Is Saturday!

Your guide for life in North Kingstown today, Sept. 6.

Trash pickup delayed: Because of the Labor Day holiday, trash pickup is delayed a day all week, so if your trash is usually picked up on Friday, it will be picked up on Saturday this week.

Post Road repaving: Post Road from Route 403 to Dana Road is being prepared for resurfacing this week by raising the structures in the road: manhole covers, and the gas and water valves. The structures will be marked with fluorescent paint. Drivers are being asked to travel at moderate speeds and with caution. At this time, weather permitting, the contractor is scheduled to resurface the road overnight on Sunday, Sept. 8. There will be two lanes of traffic open.

Skipper home action: The Girls Varsity Field Hockey team takes on SKHS tonight at 6:30. You can find all the North Kingstown High School sports games on the Rhode Island Interscholastic League website. If you happen to like taking pictures at games or writing, consider posting info about any games on our new community blog for NKHS.
