Elliot spent most of his life on the streets and is now ready to finally settle down in a loving home that provides him with a lot of love, food in a dish and a few toys to play with. But sadly for Elliot, he does have feline AIDS. He needs …

My name is Cassie and I am a three-year-old (by the way “beautiful”) pure breed black Lab. Currently I live at the North Kingstown Animal Shelter and like many shelter dogs there is a reason for it. Unfortunately my new friends at the shelter don’t know exactly what happened to me over the last few years and being the dog I am I haven’t told them but showed them. I made a few bad choices (didn’t we all?) and tried to get my way by snapping at people. I guess I never understood what’s going to happen if the “hand” comes up to me. Is it going to pull me, drag me, hit me or pet me? Can I trust …

Love golf and looking for a furry feline companion? You are (oddly) in luck because we've discovered a newly homeless cat named Fairway (yes, Fairway) who's looking for a loving home. This male cat, just less than two years old, was brought to the Pet Refuge this month after his owner passed away. The elderly man is said to have found the cat when he was just a kitten on a golf course – hence the name "Fairway." Fairway is a sweet, gentle and attention-seeking feline who loves to cuddle. Members of the Pet Refuge he'd make the perfect lap cat for those looking for a companion to watch TV or …
Mikey had a rough holiday season. The day after Christmas, he arrived at the Pet Refuge after spending the past seven months at a different shelter. Volunteers are hoping the change of venue will help Mikey find a forever home in the new year. Meet Mikey, a one-year-old orange male. This Maine Coon mix is certainly not petite, but makes up for his size in his abundance of handsomeness. Oh, and did we mention he gives kisses? Such a romantic. Mikey is neutered and up to date on all shots. Want to adopt Mikey? Contact the Pet Refuge at 401-294-1115.
For the past nine months, the Pet Refuge has been the only home these two brothers have known. Born on March 11 of this year, Andre (an orange and white tiger) and Remy (black and white tuxedo) came to the refuge when they were just three weeks old. As the holidays approach, these two lovable felines are yearning for a home for the holidays. Over the past few months, Andre and Remy's mom and two siblings have been adopted. Subsequently, these two have become incredibly close and members of the Pet Refuge hope they can be adopted together.
While many are preparing wish lists for the holidays, this kitten just wants one thing – a home for the holidays. Meet Arianna, a three-month-old kitten who's known no other home than the Pet Refuge. This extra petite kitten is an absolute love bug and a purring machine. If you're looking for a pet that wants to cuddle, Arianna's your gal. Arianna is set to be spayed this week and is up to date on her shots. Want to adopt Arianna? Contact the Pet Refuge at 401-294-1115.
Ashley is not your typical cat. When this little feline arrived at the Pet Refuge, she needed a lot of extra care and attention. Members of the refuge believe Ashley was struck in the head before arriving there, perhaps by a blunt object or a car. Her injuries have caused to her to be blind in one and partially blind in the other. Despite this, Ashley gets around very well. She loves people and to be pet and gets along very well with other cats. Ashley has been at the shelter for a year and is yearning to find a forever home. She is one year old, spayed and up to date on her shots. Want to …
This group of kittens arrived at the Pet Refuge after a fairly rough start in life. Only a few weeks old, a group of four kittens was brought to the refuge after their mother was struck by a car. All of them were in rough shape, says members of the Pet Refuge. The four kittens needed extra care, so much so that they were housed by a foster family while regaining their health. Now, they're completely healthy and ready to start a new life. Of the four siblings that came together, three remain (Stacy, Lauri and Marty) and are now joined with another kitten (Lucy) from a separate litter. As for …
The words "mellow" and "kitten" are often not compatible. Then, there's Brandon. Meet Brandon, a 13-week-old kitten who is super adorable and surprisingly relaxed. This long hair cat loves to be held and won't try to jump out of your arms. Between his fluffy tail and wide eyes, how can you not love this little guy? He does startle easily, so members of the Pet Refuge suggest Brandon may not be the best with children. He is also recently neutered and up to date on his shots. Want to adopt Brandon? Contact the Pet Refuge at 401-294-1115.
Rhetorical question time: do you love fluffy kittens? If so, check out the absolutely adorable kitten we have for our latest Pet of the Week. Meet Tilly, a 12-week-old kitten with plenty of personality to go along with her outrageous amount of fur. Tilly is a Maine Coon mix, making her extra fluffy and, naturally, extra adorable. Though Tilly's only been at the Pet Refuge for a month, she has attracted quite a few people to her cage with her utter cuteness. Tilly is very playful and energetic and appreciates a more mature household (i.e. she doesn't get along well with kids). Tilly is set to …
