The weekend is when we just want to kick back, relax and have fun. Sometimes we can't make it to every event, so we did it for you. Here's our Weekend Round-Up for this past weekeknd.
Seussical Jr.
The weekend was a hit, people were out milling about, and it was off to a great start with l Friday night. The auditorium was packed and the students entertained the audience with Seussical Jr.

The cast included Elizabeth Fusco as the Cat in the Hat, Audrey Swanson played JoJo and Philip Facey did a fantastic job as Horton. The room flashed dark to light as the cast appeared and disappeared on and off the stage. River Dobson played Gerrtude McFuzz alongside Mayzie who was played by Emma Wyllie.

2011 RI Native Plant Conference
Saturday was a full day where the was a jammed packed. The Rhode Island Wild Plant Society conference was a daylong event. The day started with a coffee social, attendees mingled while others registered. The $65 ticket included speaker Gary Plunnkett with his lecture on natural landscaping, Creating Backyard Biodiversity.
Ellen Sousa, of New England Natural Habitat Gardening, explained how to bring more birds into your backyard with a natural habitat, followed up by Sue Gordon with Our Changing Environment & Species Demographics.
Following lunch, notable guest speakers included Carolyn Summers and Robin Wilkerson. The day concluded with a panel discussion, which included all the event speakers.

Pet Refuge Spring Bazaar
The Cold Spring Community Center held the Pet Refuge Bazaar Saturday. The event was to raise money for the no-kill shelter. There was something for everyone; there were baked good, raffle items and a silent auction. You could even spend the day and have lunch, the weather was great and people enjoyed the view while picnicking on the water.
