Suit Dropped Against Several NK Green Residents

Several residents signed over deed transfers, dropping them from a suit.

Several neighbors have been dropped from a $25-million suit filed last month. , filed last month by wind turbine developer Wind Energy Development LLC and its CEO and fellow North Kingstown Green resident Mark DePasquale, after failing to sign the necessary deed transfers, according to Wind Energy Development's spokesperson David Darlington.

The deed transfers were needed to reinstate the subdivision's building permit and continue construction on a 427-foot turbine in DePasquale's backyard at North Kingstown Green. On Apr. 8, the Town of North Kingstown after finding that the deed transfers had not been properly filed.

According to Darlington, as of a noon court hearing on May 13 in Superior Court, all the deed transfers had been signed over, dropping all residents except for Nicole and Scott Newcombe from the suit. Due to late filings, the property of Nicole Newcombe – who signed over her deed transfer along with her neighbors – is still pending.
