Three days after the snow stopped falling from the Blizzard of 2013, nearly all of North Kingstown has power back.
According to National Grid's power outage map, 16 customers in North Kingstown are still waiting for power as of noon Tuesday. At this time yesterday, about 1,400 of North Kingstown's 13,000 customers were still without power. More than 900 customers in Washington County are also without power at this time.
In public statements, a National Grid spokesperson had said most of the state would have power restored by Sunday night, though many in North Kingstown had to wait until Monday night for power to return.
At the height of the storm, power was knocked out to more than 9,000 customers in North Kingstown.

I had an opportunity to interview a 30 man linecrew that came into a Narragansett Restaurant this evening. I asked them what the number one problem with the restoration effort was. The crew chief indicated the "administration" of switching orders. No switching can take place without approval of a central authority. Because it is centralized, it takes forever to get orders approved before a switch can be closed. Crews are tied up with the "red tape" and slows down the restoration effort. They also complained that it took forever to get the next assignment - "where do yo want us to go next?" This is a real problem with this utility. It underscores that bigger is not better.

I'm pretty sure Gov is not Hummel and has no power other than what he's done which is to ask a very pertinent question and post what he was told here on a forum. What is YOUR next step?
