Colin Cooney Cooper, 26, of 1 Enders Island in Mystic, CT was arrested March 22 at 9:07 p.m. on charges of marijuana possession and cited for driving in possession of a controlled substance.

Police pulled Cooper over near Gate Road after noticing he did not have his headlights on. During the stop, an officer reportedly smelled burnt marijuana coming from inside the car. According to reports, Cooper admitted to smoking marijuana around 3 p.m. before going to work at Electric Boat in Quonset. Police seized his marijuana smoking pipe (which contained some burnt marijuana inside) as evidence.

DUI Suspect's BAC Almost Triple the Legal Limit

Christenzio Antonio Mangione, 41, of 140 Yorktown Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested March 23 at 1:06 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license.

Police pulled Mangione over after he was seen swerving on Post Road and failing to use his turn signal. According to reports, Mangione was confused as to why he was being pulled over. While speaking with him, the officer pointed out a partially burnt cigarette on the floorboard nearby Mangione’s foot that was still smoldering. The officer had to put it out as Mangione was too lethargic to do so on his own.

According to reports, Mangione told the officer he only had one beer within the last 30 minutes and was driving his friends home. The officer had to cut Mangione’s field sobriety test short for his safety as Mangione was allegedly having extreme difficulty standing upright.

At the North Kingstown Police Department, Mangione’s blood alcohol content measured at .238 and .225 in tests – almost triple the legal limit.
