How Much Snow Will North Kingstown Get on Saturday?

A second storm is headed to the area and could make driving hazardous on Saturday.

A second storm of the week is headed toward New England and will dump a bit more snow onto the area on Saturday.

The National Weather Service is predicting North Kingstown will get about 1 to 3 inches of snow in the storm that is expected to start around noon Saturday, ending late Saturday night. Other forecasters are predicting as much as 5 inches in the area. Patchy fog is expected to worsen visibility as temperatures warm slightly in the afternoon, topping out around 34.

The rest of the weekend and early week is looking better — though cooler — in NK. Expect partly sunny skies with temperatures in the low-30s Sunday and Monday, with overnight lows dipping into the teens. New Year's Day should warm a bit, with temps topping out in the high-30s under mostly coudy skies.

As of one minute ago, National Weather Service has one half inch projected, not one to three inches. Strangley, WPRI is calling for NK to be in the 4-6 inch zone at this time. I guess we will see...The real question is when will the Town begin treating the roads and plowing. I am sure just in time for the OT+ to kick in. Stay tuned.

The projections have been jumping all over the place this morning, which is why I'm keeping a pair of sandals next to my winter boots. You never know...

Jeff, it's Saturday. The highway dept has weekends off. Should we let the roads just be until Monday at 7?
