Girl Scouts: We Want Your Cookie Info!
Get the word out about ordering by sharing the info on Patch.
Girl Scouts across our area are currently ramping up for one of the sweetest times of year.
From now until March, you can place orders for your favorite cookies — whether that's a Thin Mint, Do-Si-Do, or the Scout's newest treat, Savannah Smiles — by contacting a local Girl Scout.
The Girl Scouts of RI are holding a special Cookie Kick-Off this Sunday, Jan. 8. The girls, their families and friends will gather with the Providence Bruins starting at 1 p.m. to celebrate the start of selling season.
Will your daughter be selling cookies this year? Then take note! If you want to get the word out to the whole community about how they can place an order, be sure to share the info via an announcement on Patch. We'll then feature it for all to see and hopefully help make 2012 your troop's best cooking-selling year to date.
The Girl Scouts of RI report that booth sales will start toward the end of January. Be sure to check their site for locations.

Our 4th grade Junior scout troop will be picking up our cookies next Saturday, and are hoping to have a table soon at the Coastal Grower's Farmers Market! We are also taking donations to send boxes to a Navy port security command in Iraq that we have sent cookies and cards to for the last five years.
Never mind the fact that they are delicious, it's a great cause. Some of our girls sold enough to send themselves to summer camp last year. And our troop raised enough funds to subsidize half the cost of their upcoming overnight trip to Mystic Aquarium (God help me!). They have been asking to do this since they were Brownie Scouts, and are very excited to "sleep with the fishes".
So, your $4 per box is a very good thing. Thank you in advance for your support of this largest girl-run business in the world!
