Beisel Nominated For Female Swimmer Of The Year

Olympic swimmer and North Kingstown High School graduate Elizabeth Beisel has been nominated for the 2010 Golden Goggle Awards' Female Athlete of the Year award this week.
The Golden Goggle Awards, honoring the year's top swimming performances, consists of eight awards and will be presented on Nov. 22 in New York City at the New York Marriott Marquis. The event will be hosted by "Today" show co-host Natalie Morales and feature a mixture of swimming talent and members of the entertainment industry.
Top swimmers, such as Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin (both boasting four nominations a piece), will also be in attendance. The Golden Goggle Awards serve as a fundraiser for the USA Swimming Foundation
Eighteen-year-old Beisel will be vying for Female Athlete of the Year against Coughlin, Rebecca Soni, and Dana Vollmer. The 2008 Olympian and 2010 NKHS graduate is now in her freshman year at the University of Florida.
