And the Winner For Best Display Is... [poll]
Who won this year's holiday display contest in Wickford?
Wickford's storeowners have been fervently planning, prepping and decorating their storefronts all in the name of holiday spirit...and for a chance to nab bragging rights in the annual Holiday Display Contest.
The results are in and the winner is Different Drummer. Following behind in second is neighbor Beauty & the Bath. Third was Wickford newcome Sydney Rae's.
Led by Festival of Lights organizer Julie Beebe, the contest was judged by a handful of locals who critiqued the 28 participating stores, armed with clipboards and a critical eye. Each store was judged on four categories – spirit of the season, use of space, creativity and eye appeal.
Do you agree with the judges? Who do you think should have won this year's display competition? Sound off in the comments below and/or take our poll.

Ho, Ho, Ho...that's the Holiday Spirit! The windows were judged according to creativity and spirit. The Drummer window was far more than *just* ornaments, placed on dishes. There were many fine windows displayed and the real winner was Wickford and all of its residents and shoppers. Sorry if you feel that *any* part of this was "disgraceful" Domenica. Sounds like a mental readjustment for the Season is order if that's your attitude...

The effort that was put into each and every window was in the spirit of our true love of Wickford! It's not about hours put in it's about the overall effect it has on people when it's completed!

In the spirit of the season and for the love of Wickford, I think we all did a fantastic job. It is not about who wins, but the love we all put into our windows. We are all in this together and are happy to share this with our customers and the people who love Wickford.

Please! This is silly. Why be so mean-spirited? Different Drummer is my neighbor and it made me sad to read what you wrote about all the effort they put in. Beauty and the Bath (my store) and my neighbors do this for fun and to see the reaction on our customer's faces. The judges were a group of local women who took the time to do a great job. It's a friendly competition for bragging rights with no ill will intended. Merry Christmas!

Every Window is a winner in my eyes. It takes year round creativity to entice a shopper.
