5 Things: Spelling, RESP & Super Bowl
Five things to know for Feb. 2.
1. RESP will hold its sixth stakeholder meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at 218 S. Ferry Road in Narragansett. Stop in early at 5:30 p.m. for a light dinner. Attendees must RSVP to Amber Neville at 401-874-6106 or amber@crc.uri.edu due to space limitations.
2. Come see North Kingstown students duke it out in the most vicious competition this side of the Apponaug-Dixon line at tonight's district-wide spelling bee. The spelling starts at 6:30 p.m. at North Kingstown High School.
3. Not that you'd ever want to go back to school on a Saturday morning, but there will be a mock SAT practice exam at North Kingstown High School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check here for the full details.
4. Start the Super Bowl Festivities early with Wilson’s of Wickford. Live music will be provided by local blue grass band Lizzie James and the Grey Stone Rail (from 2 to 4 p.m.). Enjoy free mini facials, chair massages, color analysis and makeup makeover courtesy of Radiance by Leslie. Scrimshanders will be offering free scrimshaw demonstrations all day and giving away one free scrimshaw lesson. Guess the final score of the Super Bowl and win $100 of Wilson’s of Wickford gift certificates. Runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
5. Today: partly sunny with highs near 46. Tonight: isolated showers before 8 p.m. with mostly cloudy skies with lows around 28. Tomorrow: sunny with a high near 41.
