Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts in the United States, started her first troop in Savannah, GA on March 12, 1912 and this year marks the 100^th anniversary of Scouting. To conclude the 100^th anniversary year-long celebration, last week on November 4^th, troops from North Kingstown/ Jamestown participated in a founder’s day ceremony. New flags were dedicated to the NK/J unit and troops presented time capsules to be opened in ten years. To top it off birthday cupcakes were decorated to honor Juliette Low’s birthday of October 31^st!
